About GDP (current US$)

GDP in current U.S. dollars is gross domestic product at that year's prices, with no adjustment for price changes, expressed in dollars. It puts the size of economies in one currency, but because it is in dollars it moves with exchange rates: in a year when the yen weakens, Japan's GDP in dollars shrinks even if domestic output does not.
