About Unemployment, total (% of total labor force) (modeled ILO estimate)

The unemployment rate is the share of the labor force (people in work plus the unemployed) who are able and willing to work and looking for a job but do not have one. The World Bank figures are estimates by the International Labour Organization that smooth out differences in national definitions, so they can differ slightly from the rates countries publish themselves.
