About Monthly Labour Survey (indices of wages and hours worked) — Total cash earnings (nominal wage index)
The Monthly Labour Survey, run by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, tracks wages, hours worked and employment. This group holds wage indices (nominal and real) and hours indices for all surveyed industries, establishments with 5 or more employees (2020 average = 100). The real wage index deflates nominal wages by consumer prices, so it shows wages after inflation.
