The Consumption Trend Index, published by the Statistics Bureau, combines household-side statistics such as the Family Income and Expenditure Survey with seller-side statistics to capture consumption as a whole, monthly — something a household survey alone cannot do. It comes as real and nominal point estimates, and as a smoothed trend estimate.
