About TANKAN / Annual Projections: Fixed Investment — Fixed Investment (including Land Purchasing Expenses)/Year-to-year Percent Change/Fiscal Year/Large Enterprises/All industries/Actual result
TANKAN — the Short-Term Economic Survey of Enterprises in Japan — is a quarterly survey the Bank of Japan sends to firms nationwide. Its headline measure, the business conditions D.I., is the share of firms answering "favourable" minus the share answering "unfavourable", so a positive figure means more firms feel good about business. It breaks down by firm size (large, medium-sized, small) and by industry (manufacturing, non-manufacturing), and also carries capital investment plans (year-on-year). "Actual result" is the judgement at the time of the survey; "forecast" looks three months ahead.
